I’d love to join you in your food adventure! Let’s explore together sometimes : )

P.S. Thanks for getting into Pink Berry… I can’t live without it now… Rosie & Lucia come over for a walk every Sunday and we MAKE SURE to stop to get a nice Pomeg. Frozen Yogurt… it’s became our healthy ritual!

    XOXO,

  2. Hi Hirono,

My name is Monica and I’m an Asian American Studies major at UCLA. I actually live in Northridge and I LOVE your food blog. =) I’m doing a research presentation for school on Asian pastries/baked goods and I was wondering if I could reference your site. Of course, it will all be properly cited and I would definitely give credit to you.

Please email be back soon, as my presentation date is looming. Thanks!

ps. Please keep up your mouth-watering posts!

  3. Hi Monica,

  4. Hey, Hirono!! I live in PDX and seem to be your sister-city food doppleganger. The next time you’re up here and are in need of a couple of suggested eateries, give me a buzz. I promise not to lead you astray.

  5. Hi Kasumi!

Thankyou so much for visiting my blog and leaving a comment! Aaah, I am absolutely in love with Portland … as matter of fact, I’m here in the city right now as I type this. I’m here for work and will be running the Portland Marathon on Sunday!

I had a wonderful dinner at Park Kitchen tonight! It’s amazing how many great restaurants there are … Paley’s being my absolute favorite! I also liked the placed called Hurley’s in Nob Hill but has sense closed (ah shucks).

I would LOVE any restaurant recommendations for Portland! Thank you for the offer! I visit Portland frequently so if I can’t try it this time, there’ll always be the next time!

Again, thank you, and it’s nice to meet you 🙂

  6. Hi Hirono! How are you?
We enjoy your blog and many Japanese-food pictures.
The pictures reminds us of happy days with you in Kyoto.
Let’s go to eat Kuzukiri and other delicious sweet again!
    We are looking forward!!
Please give our love to your parents.
    See you!

  7. Hi Tania! Thank you for vising my blog!

I LOVED Brazil. The people there were so kind and food was absolutely delicious (I fell in love with Acai there)! I didn’t have too much time for sight-seeing, but I got to wonder around the city of Sao Paulo a little, which was great. I had a lot of fun shopping at Liberdade. There are so many familiar food and goodies from japan and I felt like I was in Tokyo instead of Sao Paulo! I definitely plan on coming back (this time as a vacation instead of a business trip, hopefully) .. hopefully, Sao Paulo will be selected to host the Olympics in 8 years, although I’m sure I’ll be back before that!

  9. Ted,

I know your comment is completely a joke and a spam but it was so charming in a very, politically-incorrect sort of way that I had to approve it. Thanks for the chuckle!

  10. Hi Hirono

A friend just told me about your blog, and I think I’m going to have to add another internet addiction. The food looks sooooo gooood!

I was wondering whether or not you think you might take “Time For Dinner” anywhere beyond a personal blog (or if you already do!?)? You’re such a fun writer and the recipes all seem professional level. Do you or do you plan to have any cookbooks, columns, etc.?

Let me know if you could use some NY restaurant recommendations!

    Keep up the great work,
    Amy

  11. Hi Amy!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog! And thank you so much for such kind comments. It would be a dream to have my own cookbook someday but I still have so much to learn 🙂

I will definitely be hitting you up for NY restaurant recommendations in the future!

Thank you! You’ve certainly made my day!

  12. Great blog!! 🙂 Seems like you frequent some of the same Woodland Hills haunts as myself. I plan to come back frequently! – Tony

  13. Hi,
You should try Gogi House in Santa Clarita. It’s an all you can eat Korean BBQ Restaurant that serves great meats and more. Everything is included…dumplings, jap chae (sp?), bibimbap, fried rice, soup, tempura…the list goes on. It’s on Bouquet Cyn. next to Vons. Hope you get a chance to try it out!

  14. Hi Tony! Thanks for visiting! It looks like we were neighbors! I am not living in Woodland Hills but I work near there so I still get to frequent some of my favorite WH eateries! I really enjoy your blog. It was through your blog that I learned that Pomodoro closed! I used to go there for dinner many times.

    Hirono

  15. Hi Jennifer! Thank you so much for the recommendation! I think I’ve been to Gigo House. I don’t remember if it was that place but I remember eating at this all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ in Santa Clarita so I’m thinking that was Gogi. I must agree, the menu there is amazing. I think I ate about a month worth of food when I was there! Mmmm.

Do you live in the Santa Clarita area?

    • Thank you so much for visiting my blog, Polish Mama 🙂 I’m glad you found me. I’m glad you like the food photos! I think your blog is beautiful. I will try some of the recipes and experience the wonderful Polish flavors!

    • YAY, Shannon! Thanks for visiting! You’ll find out quickly that both you and Tiffany make appearances in the blog quite frequently!:)

  16. Hi Hirono – I finally made it to your food blog!! Looking at all the wonderful food is making me hungry. 🙂

  17. Hello Hirono:
I love your blog. Like you I am a foodie who lives in the San Fernando Valley. My husband and I are turning our daughter into a miniature foodie. Besides food, I love fashion and that is the blog that seems to be most updated. I used to write a blog called The Determined Cook (in WordPress) and now, my focus is I Love What I Wear.
Keep blogging and I look forward to visiting some of the places you talk about.
    Best.
    Rita Anne

    • Hi Rita!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment! It’s always so nice to hear from a fellow foodie from the Valley! I checked out your food blog — it’s amazing! I’m going to dig right in and read your previous posts! Love the photos — I’m getting hungry!

I love your fashion blog too! I’ve recently discovered the joy of fashion sites. I’m not much of a fashionista, but I do love looking at pretty clothes! Looking forward to your future posts!

      Hirono

  18. Hi Hirono,

I just discovered your blog through a common interest: Sakaharu Aoki ;-).

I am currently looking for his books however I cant read any Japanese… Do you perhaps know if he released any of his cookbooks in other languages?

    Thanks!

    Alex
