Breakfast / Lunch (11:30 a.m.): I guess I should say that I skipped breakfast … but I did have lunch a little earlier than usual. I made a smoked salmon sandwich with two pieces of fluffy Japanese white breads that Kevin got for me at Yamazaki bakery during our last Little Tokyo outing. Coffee is Costa Rican. I only have enough beans left for a few more cups … bummer.

Snack (4:00 p.m.): Mochi ice creams for a mid-day snack, courtesy of Shannon, who brought them over for our shabu shabu party last weekend (I’m still bummed that I didn’t take any pictures from the fabulous dinner). I had both green tea and mango flavors. Surprisingly, I liked mango better.

Dinner (6:30 p.m.): I made a hot pot for one. I cooked a handful of spinach and napa cabbage in hot water, and added harusame and thinly-sliced pork. I poured ponzu (citrus sauce), gomadare (sesame sauce), sriracha, and green onion. I was feeling a little weak yesterday (with slight dizziness) so my sister suggested that I take iron, thus, pork and spinach.

Random TV Talk:  Anyone addicted to the show, Revenge, as much as I am?  I am hooked.  Absolutely hooked.

My theory after watching the latest episode, “Infamy,” is that Amanda will be framed for the arson of Mason’s (the writer) house; Amanda goes on the run, but not before trying to kill Daniel to take revenge on Emily … but kills Tyler (who probably escaped from a mental institute to take a revenge on everyone) instead by accident; Jack sees all this and tries to hide the body to protect Amanda after she flees the scene.  I wonder if Lydia will have something to do with this too, although I don’t know how she would be involved.  With a twist of some fate, Lydia can actually be the one to pull the trigger, trying to take a revenge on Victoria.  Aah, all the revenges!

Some thinks that Daniel will be framed for Tyler’s death, thus taking the ultimate revenge on Victoria for having someone she loves being framed for the crime he didn’t commit.  I think that’s a great theory.  I was wondering how the story would resume next season after everyone leaves the Hampton, but with Daniel’s trial, it makes all the sense in the world that the story continues in the New York City.  Anyway, we’ll see how things pan out in the next few episodes!

I wish I can see a battle between Victoria Grayson and Amanda Woodward (from Melrose Place) and see who wins the bitch fight!

  1. That dinner looks delicious! I’ve never seen a homemade version of a dish quite like that. And following that up with your favorite tv show? Sounds like a superb night!

  2. I thought it was a “revenge of the carbs”! lol
Nice selection of foods, but remember…
    1) Protein with every meal!
    2) Eat 5-6 small meals/snacks a day!
    3) Breakfast within 1 hour of waking up.
    4) Keep drinking more water!

    Tough Love,
    Saori 🙂
